Tryout/Season Start Information
All students wishing to participate in athletics must have a current physical on file with the athletic office and complete the online registration process. The Athletic Department requires each participant to complete the online registration process for each sport season. This ensures the safety of the athlete and also updates our athletic eligibility files.
Fall Season 2024
Boys Cross Country is a "Limited Participation" sport. The T-Bolts home course is located both on campus, and at the Tinley Park Rec. Center off 171st and 80th Ave. Athletes will train both on campus, and run off-campus as well. Training schedules and locations will be shared with all athletes who join the team. All levels will meet at 3 PM on Monday, August 12th outside of the North Boys PE Locker Room. Come dressed and ready to run!! All are welcome to join us!! All athletes must have completed their registration and have an active physical downloaded on laserfiche. If you have questions about the 2024 season, contact Coach Matz.

Football is a "No Cut" sport. Tryouts for positions on the football team, for all levels (freshman, sophomore and varsity) will begin August 12th at 3 pm. All athletes must have a valid sports physical uploaded to laserfiche, completed registration, black spikes, mouthpiece, gym shoes, and water. TFF! Boys Golf Boys Golf is a "Cut" sport. The first day of tryouts will be on Monday, August 12th. Varsity and JV will meet at Odyssey Country Club putting green at 3:15 p.m. Please bring your own set of clubs and $15 for greens fees/range balls. Be sure to register at the Andrew Snap/8to18 website and have a current up-to-date physical downloaded into laserfiche before the first day of tryouts. If you have questions about the 2024 season, contact Coach Zukowski. Golf is an off-campus sport held mostly at Odyssey Golf Course for varsity and Mid-Iron, White Mountain for JV. Coaches will share practice/meet locations with all rostered athletes after tryouts.

- Varsity will meet at Odyssey Range at 3:30pm
- JV tryouts after school at White Mountain, bus from school at 3:15pm.
Boys Soccer is a "Cut" sport. Juniors and Seniors must report to the Stadium Turf on August 12th at 5:30 p.m.for Varsity Tryouts. Freshman and Sophomores must report to the auxiliary grass soccer field (south of tennis courts) at 3:30 p.m. on 8/12. If you have questions about the 2024 season, contact Coach Zolk.
Girls Swim and Dive is a "Limited" sport. All swimmers/divers will begin on Monday, August 12th. We will meet at the pool at 8am for a brief informational meeting followed by practice. Be sure to register at the Andrew's Snap/ 8to18 website and have your physicals up-to-date in laserfiche. If you have questions about the 2023 season, contact Coach Muchna.
Girls Tennis is a "Cut" sport. Freshman and Sophomores will meet at tennis courts on August 12th at 8:45 a.m. to have tryouts from 9-10:30 and Juniors and Seniors will tryout at 10:30 - noon.If you have questions about the 2024 season, contact Coach Maratea.
Girls Volleyball is a "Cut" sport. Girls volleyball tryouts will be on August 12th for all levels from 3:15-5:30 p.m. in the south gym (2nd floor up stairs from main south entrance). Be sure to register at the Andrew's Snap/8to18 website and have your physical up-to-date in laserfiche. Sideline Cheer and Poms Sideline cheer and poms are both "cut sports" and tryouts for these fall activities are held the previous spring in May. You can contact our head cheer coach, Mrs. Samantha Szpytek at sszpytek@d230.org and our head poms coach Mrs. Julie Mattix at jmattix@d230.org for more information on the first day of practice on August 12th.
Winter Season 2024-25
Boys Basketball is a "Cut" sport. Tryouts begin on November 11th. All athletes need to be registered on Snap/8to18 and have an updated physical uploaded to laserfiche. All freshman need to wear a white shirt so we can draw a number on the front and back. Freshman tryouts will be Monday, 11/11 at 3:30 in the south gym, and JV and Varsity tryouts will be 5:30 - 7:30 with JV in south gym, and varsity in main gym. The remaining tryout schedule will be shared on the 11th. If you have questions about the upcoming winter season, contact Head Coach Justin Stirn.
Girls Basketball is a "Cut" sport. Tryouts will begin on Nov. 4th. All athletes need to be registered on Snap/8to18 and have an updated physical downloaded into laserfiche. All levels will have tryouts at 3:30 p.m. on the 4th with varsity in the main gym, JV in the west gym, and freshman in the south gym. Boys Bowling is a "Cut" sport. October 28th and 29th 3:30pm to 5:15pm for All Levels at Thunder Bowl. School transportation will be provided, and students meet in 153 both days for the tryout bus after school. Travel Waivers will only be granted to those juniors and seniors who sign and return the waiver before October 28th. All interested students must successfully register on Snap/8to18 as well as having their sports physical confirmed by the AD office. Athletes who complete this process will then be emailed additional tryout information by our head coach, Coach Lobes.
Girls Bowlingis a "Cut" sport. Tryouts will be November 18 & 19 3:30-5:15 for all levels. All athletes need to be registered on Snap/8to18 and have an updated physical uploaded to laserfiche. Transportation will be provided for those who need it to Thunderbowl. Travel Waivers will only be granted to those Juniors and Seniors who sign and return the waiver before Nov. 18. No experience and no equipment is needed, but if your daughter makes the team, getting the proper equipment is highly encouraged in order for the proper progression to occur. If your daughter is new to bowling, please do not purchase anything ahead of time unless you speak to Coach Gibson or Coach Marcotte (Fowler). Cheer is a "Cut" sport. Tryouts for Competition Cheerleading Season is on October 28th 5:30-7:30 and October 29th 5:30-7:30 in the West Gym. All grade levels are eligible to try out for the competition season. There will be two levels: Junior Varsity and Varsity. This tryout is a “cut” sport and each level will have 2-4 alternates named. Team placements will take place on day 2 of tryouts with a coach/athlete conference. The first practice for the season will begin on Thursday October 30th. Dance is a "Cut" sport. Tryouts will be Monday October 28th ~ 3:15-6:30pm in the dance studio. All levels are eligible to try out. Dance experience is necessary for the competitive season. We will form our JV squad as well as our varsity squad with the potential for alternates on both teams. Teams will be selected by the end of the tryout on Oct. 28 All athletes need to be registered on Snap/8to18 and have an updated physical uploaded to laserfiche. Wrestling & Girls Wrestling: is a "Non-Cut" sport. Season starts on November 11th with interested athletes for our developmental boys and girls program starting at 3:20 in the wrestling room. Varsity tryout/practices will begin at 5:20 p.m. All athletes need to be registered on Snap/8to18 and have an updated physical uploaded to laserfiche. If you have questions, contact Coach Kowalczuk.
Boys Swim/Dive is a "Non-Cut" sport. Tryouts/first day will be November 25th in the pool after school in the pool bleachers, followed by practice in the pool. Girls Gymnastics is a "Cut" sport. Girls Gymnastics is a consolidated D230 program consisting of athletes from Sandburg, Stagg, and Andrew and is a cut sport. Tryouts for the program take place on November 11th and 7th at 3:30 in the gymnastics gym, located in the west gym, just west of the wrestling room. Spring Season 2025
Boys Water Polo: All Levels - Tryout/practice information for the spring 2025 season will be made available in January 2025. We will be getting into the pool on Day 1 so please come prepared. Information on suits will be provided the first day of practice. Please have your physical on file in our laserfiche system and sign up in our SNAP/8to18 registration system.
