Military Careers

Many students look into enlisting in the military after high school.  The U.S. Armed Forces – including the Air Force, Army, Navy, National Guard, Marines, and Coast Guard – allow students to enlist after graduation anytime after turning 18.

The following are basic requirements for enlisting:

  • US Citizen or Resident Alien
  • Age 17-34
  • High School Diploma
  • Have no more than 2 dependents
  • Pass the ASVAB (Armed Services Aptitude Battery) Test
  • Pass the MEPS (Military Entrance Processing Station) Medical Exam

Selective Service System

With very few exceptions, all male US citizens and immigrants between age 18-25 are required to register with Selective ServiceSystem (SSS). This includes US born and naturalized citizens, parolees, undocumented immigrants, legal permanent residents, asylum seekers, refugees and all males with visas of any kind which expired more than 30 days ago.
