Additional Music Offerings
MUSIC TECHNOLOGY AND BUSINESS
Students will learn recording techniques, both live and track by track, recording applications to computer (effects/signal processing), microphone use, sound reinforcement, application of sound effects and samples, audio editing and audio editing to video, as well as, how this work is done in a professional setting. No prior experience or specialized equipment is required.
GUITAR
Students learn the fundamentals of playing the acoustic guitar. Classical techniques provide a foundation for other technique development, which may include but is not limited to, jazz and rock. Students are required to provide their own 6 string acoustic guitar. No prior experience is required.
MUSIC THEORY
Students will study the basic, rudimentary elements of music. Areas to study include intervals, keys, chord structures, scales, rhythm and meter, and basic part writing. Essential for future music majors, but open to everyone who wants to learn about the language and overall structure of music. AP Music Theory is also offered.
