Cost of the D230 Driver Education program is $150. This is hundreds of dollars less than area alternatives!
The Illinois Secretary of State charges a separate fee of $20 for driving permits.

COURSE PREREQUISITES
The State of Illinois legislation regarding Driver Education states that a student must receive a passing grade in at least 8 academic courses during the previous two semesters prior to enrolling in the course.
ILLINOIS REQUIREMENTS
Students are required to complete 50 hours of practice driving time, with an adult outside of the classroom, to qualify for an Illinois Driver license. The State of Illinois has a 9 month waiting period to get your license once you are enrolled in the course and receive your permit.
D230 REQUIREMENTS
- Must be 15 years old by start of semester
- Students typically take the course during their sophomore year. The course is open to students in grades 10-12.
- Registration takes place in January with their guidance counselors.
