The S4 initiative (successful schools/successful students) is in full swing with the goal of connecting students early on in high school to a possible career path through a variety of exciting ways:

Career Exploration Visits

Andrew students will be given opportunities throughout the year to explore their desired professions with hands on experience. They will be exposed to the environment, working conditions and meet professionals in their settings. Additionally, we have the students navigate through Career Cruising. The students research the career field before they attend the visit. The purpose of this is to have the students obtain a highlighted foundation of the profession allowing them to ask more specific and detailed questions when on the trip. Prior to the trip they will learn the training/schooling that is needed for the profession through Career Cruising, but will learn from the professional as to why they chose one training school/college over another. The goal is for the students to gain a more personal touch when going through their college/career selection process.

Career Cruising

The guidance office has implemented a plan to make sure that each student is connected with the Career Cruising Website. Each Andrew high school student has a username and password already established on the career cruising website.

                                Username: d230-student ID#
                                Password: student's 8 digit birthdate
The career cruising educational goal is to have each student develop a PORTFOLIO that includes his/her 4 year educational plan through the use of the career cruising website. Freshmen through Senior year students will develop a foundation of what career they would like to pursue along with how/where they will obtain the proper education/training for their desired career.
